David Chapple spotted her early that morning.

She had come to the Krasl Art Fair to help a jeweler friend but spent most of the weekend talking with him.

David and Noonie Chapple have come back every year since not only to sell his automobile-inspired acrylic paintings, but to celebrate the day they first met some 14 years ago.

David Chapple, who now lives in Grand Blanc, Mich., with his wife of 12 years and their 8-year-old son Noah., is one of the more than 200 artists who will descend on Lake Bluff Park in St. Joseph this Breitling Navitimer Quartz Chronograph BT-6 for the 49th annual Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff.

The two-day event held the second weekend in July began in 1962 as a clothesline art fair. It has since become a nationally recognized destination on the summer art fair circuit.

"Part of the reason we've consistently been recognized as one of the top art fairs in the country is because we believe the relationships we build with artists are paramount," says Sara Shambarger, Breitling Navitimer Quartz Chronograph BT-64 special events director for the Krasl Art Fair.

"One of our goals is to treat our artists like kings and queens. Not all art fairs do that. In fact, some art fairs don't treat artists very well at all. But it's a big part of our mission, and I think artists recognize that."
